Find Quality Stickers at Lubbock's Best, and First, Sticker Event

Aug 16, 2023

Everyone loves stickers whether it's small children receiving them at the doctors office, high schoolers during class, and even just randomly on the streets. One local sticker company is catering to all lovers of stickers and hosting the first ever sticker event in Lubbock.

HubCity Slaps is a local Lubbock sticker company that was started back in 2021 by graphic designer Jacob Teague who began working with stickers from his very own home. In an interview Jacob states that after his Reddy Kilowatt sticker (featured below) went viral in 2022 he started focusing more on the consumer market of bulk stickers.

For those that collect stickers it's well known that company will charge a hefty amount for custom stickers. Jacob states he wanted to be different and deliver custom stickers that were high quality and affordable. Stickers are some of the things that people seem to forget about but can be found everywhere in Lubbock.

This event was a no brainer for HubCity Slaps and took between two and three months to plan with some guidance from the team at Terror Con. The reason for this event to showcase art, because stickers are more than just stickers but art that can be stuck anywhere Jacob states. Aside from being art that can be anywhere they are something that make everyone happy, proud, and what everyone wants (just ask my 10th grade science teacher).

There will not be any food trucks but there will be a candy booth for those that have a sweet tooth along with a photo booth from the Lubbock Guardians. Texas Terror Con will also be at this event giving out free stickers at their booth along with some information about Texas Terror Con.

This event will be on Saturday, August 5, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at 4202 Boston Avenue in Lubbock. More information about the HubCity Slaps sticker event can be found on their Facebook or for a look at their work and to order custom stickers just head on over to their website, Facebook or their TikTok. This event is free to the public.
